Savoury Cheese and Lavender Biscuits

Want a biscuit that isn't too sweet? Try these savoury cheese biscuits. They're easy to make and quite yummy to eat. By combining a couple of cheeses with some mixed herbs and lavender you get a delicious biscuit that you'll love to eat.

  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 2 tbspn self–raising flour
  • 125 g butter chopped
  • 2 tbspn parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 cup tasty cheddar cheese grated
  • 1 tspn mixed herbs
  • 1 tspn culinary lavender or to taste
  • 1 tbspn water


  1. Sift the dry ingredients into a medium bowl, rub in the butter.

  2. Stir in the cheeses, mixed herbs and culinary lavender.

  3. Mix enough water in to make a soft dough.

  4. Knead on a floured board until smooth.

  5. Shape the dough into a log, wrap it tightly in foil and refrigerate.

  6. Cut into rounds and place on greased tray.

  7. Bake in a moderate oven (180°C) until lightly browned.

  8. Let cool on the tray.
